Even their summary is ominous

I confess I haven’t yet read the entire healthcare bill. I have read sections and also the 4 page summary that used by Congressional committees. Even in this favorable treatment there some troubling revelations. If you make $43,000 or more you get no “affordability credits”. These are the vehicle the Bill uses to assist lower income individuals and families with the costs. Also, any individuals “who choose to not obtain coverage will pay a penalty of 2.5 percent of modified adjusted gross income above a specified level”. Of course if you are not employed you won’t be penalized. Let’s be sure to slap hard working folks as much as possible. Lastly the letter states ” Government responsibility. – The government is responsible for ensuring that every American can afford quality health insurance, through the new affordability credits, insurance reforms, consumer protections, and improvements to Medicare and Medicaid.” I suppose this will also be revenue neutral? This is the final post I’ll make regarding this letter. As I make it through the actual bill I’ll be sharing what I find. Check out the widget in the right margin. It links to OpenCongress.org and shows the status of this monster bill. Join OpenCongress.org and read it for yourself. Look for us there. Our id is MaunderMonitor.
