That's why the audience was so agitated. They were not aware that the organization had already made up its mind. This is what I have found with labor unions over the years. Dues paying members were never a part of the political decisions. My mother worked in factories her whole life. Paid ILGWU dues for 50 years. She wasn't political but that didn't stop them from supporting every Democrat to come down the pike. Now in her retirement she receives a lowsey $90 per month in retirement "benefits". Now their health plan might be bankrupt. Sorry but I think if you are a dues paying member of a group your interests should be represented.
